 CHUS’s Distribution Center
For the last few weeks, the Centre hospitalier universitaire de Sherbrooke (CHUS) has been able to count on its new distribution center built on Ida-Métivier street, near the laundry which was built there last year. The distribution center’s construction of a 1436 square meter building required an investment of $2 M. They have also dedicated $450 000 to the purchase of new equipments.
Eager to optimize their supply chain management, CHUS has obtained the assistance of the Montreal International Logistics Institute, a College-level Center of Technology Transfer which is under the supervision of Montreal’s Cégep André-Laurendeau. The latter is the most important training organization in Quebec in the fields of logistics and transportation. The Institute has supported the team in the implementation of new operation modes. The distribution center is currently adapted to modern warehousing requirements and distribution. « We have proved that we can take the supplies out of the hospitals! »
